Sharp: no card hints — a wrong play is chehupenzi: penalty card + you miss your turn.
Zimbabwean switch rules · 7s skip, Jacks reverse, 2s demand pick 2, Aces block attacks.

The same command language the WhatsApp version speaks. Type help.
Match the rank or suit of the top discard. Stuck (or bluffing)? Draw 1, then play or pass. Tap a card to play it right away. Brush a finger across your cards to have a proper look — the card under your finger stays raised after the brush. Tap it to play, brush past the end of the fan to put it back down, or swipe up mid-brush to play it in one motion.
🎚️ Difficulty. Easy: your playable cards are highlighted. Sharp: no hints — every card looks playable, just like holding a real hand. Play a card that doesn't match and it's chehupenzi (a blunder!): your wrong card is shown face-up to the whole table, you pick up a penalty card, and you miss your turn — so no random plays! 🫣
7 — Skip. Next player sits out (they can counter with their own 7).
8 — Declare. Wild anytime; name the suit. Another 8 on top is a counter-attack: it kills the declaration — the counter 8's own suit stands, no re-declaring (with only 2 players left, every 8 declares).
Jack — Reverse. Flip direction for the rest of the game, or bounce to the next player and straight back to you. Heads-up (2 players): either way, you play again.
2 — Pick 2. Victim blocks with an Ace, stacks their own 2/Joker, or draws. First penalty card drawn is an Ace? Play it free.
Joker — Pick 5. Playable anytime. Stacks with 2s. After the penalty is settled, the next player may play any card — that card sets the new suit.
Ace — Block & dump. Blocks attacks; also lets you shed every card of the Ace's suit.
👑 King — Keep playing. After a King, immediately play another card of the King's suit, another King (chains!), an 8, or a Joker. No follow? Draw 1 and your turn ends. Going out on a King does not win the round — you're in air.
🍀 Lucky Card (optional). Before a penalty, gamble the top of the stock: Ace blocks, 2/Joker adds to the pile, anything else costs you penalty +1.
“In air”. Going out on any special card (7, 8, Jack, 2, Joker, Ace, King) doesn't end the round — you're in air: draw 1 when your turn comes back and keep going. Only a normal card (no special power) wins the round clean.
Scoring: 2=25 · 7=14 · 8=40 · Joker=50 · K/Q/J=10 · Ace=11 (but the Ace of Spades = 100!) · numbers face. Knockout eliminates the fattest hand each round; points race banks opponents' cards toward 100–350.
💣 Ace of Spades — the bomb. Play it anytime on any card, and any card can be played on top of it. But get caught holding it when a round ends and it costs you 100 points — dump it early!
⏱ Turn timer. 2 minutes per turn. You also get a personal bank of two +1 minute extensions for the whole game — tap +1 min in the buttons under your hand when you need thinking time, but spend them wisely: once they're gone, they're gone. Run out and the game plays for you. The last 5 seconds tick down with a countdown sound, and a gentle chime sounds whenever your turn begins.

Welcome to ZIM8 — the Crazy 8 card game the whole of Zimbabwe grew up on. A staple in every household, from street corners to classrooms, from taxis to community halls. Now the thrill rides with you, wherever you are. This is Crazy 8, Zim Edition.
Hello, Makadii,
My name is Geoffrey Gugwe. I am a Zimbabwean developer and project consultant based in Canada 🇨🇦
I recently launched my first web-based game — ZIM8 🇿🇼 - A Crazy Eights Card Game with Zimbabwean switch rules that we all grew up playing.
I wanted to take the traditional game and bring it online as a mobile-first game that opens & plays in any browser. Saveable for offline play 📵
Please check it out and feel free to send me your feedback. This is my first game project, so there's an opportunity to continue learning and developing.
v2. This version includes solo vs bots, pass-and-play hotseat (2–8), shareable room links, demo login, local leaderboard. Live online multiplayer, real auth, global rankings and the WhatsApp bot arrive with the game server.
